We are a state funded co-educational contributing school situated in

Three Kings, Auckland

We consist of approximately 480students from Year 1-6 representing a range of different cultures and nationalities.

Three Kings School is proud of its history – being the oldest school in Auckland that is still based on its original premises.

The school is designated as Decile 7.  At present the school is made up of approximately:  52% European and 48% non-European children (5% fromMaori, 14% from India, 9% from Pacific Island backgrounds, 13% from Chinese, 7%from other cultures)

The students, Board of Trustees, staff and parents take great pride in the school.  Some of our existing students are third generation pupils. We have a very supportive school community and are very fortunate in having many parents and caregivers actively involved in the PTA, classroom and school activities.  The 125th Jubilee was celebrated in April of 2003.  It was a great occasion for pastand present pupils.

Three Kings School began as Mt Roskill School in 1878, the first in the district, and is one of the oldest schools in Auckland.  The older part of the school was built between1926 and 1935. The senior pupils are situated in these classrooms.

In 1973 the New Entrant block wasbuilt.  In 1996 a major building programme established newadministration offices, a staff room, the LibraryInformation Centre and four more teaching spaces. The school hall which was completed in 1999, is used extensively for school assemblies, performing arts, cultural, and sports activities.

The nationalities of our families are proudly represented with flags in our hall. Children are encouraged to celebrate their cultures through our cultural clubs and the Arts.

Kapahaka, Dance and ‘Speak Out’groups provide regular extra curricular activities for students.  Piano and violin tutors offer paid tuition to students during class hours. There is a strong focus on the Arts including visualart, drama and dance.  A music specialist directs the school choir and band and we have a biennial musical production.

The Junior School Christmas Concert is always a delightful experience. A heated swimming pool enables swimming lessons throughout the year.

Ross Millar Swim School operates outside school hours.  The school performs to a high level in zone swimming, cricket, softball, cross country and athletics competitions.  Teams participate in Saturday Netball and Flippa Ball competitions.

Cups and trophies are awarded for excellence in achievement, citizenship, leadership and cultural participation
